Research Interests
I have completed my Ph.D. in Social Work from Central University of Karnataka, titled “Access, Utilization and Delivery of Mental Health Services in Hyderabad-Karnataka Region”, MSW (Social Work) with Medical and Psychiatry specialization, from Pondicherry Central University and BSW (Social Work) from Dr A. V. Baliga Institute (affiliated to Mangalore University), Mangalore University (Karnataka, India). I have cleared UGC/NET (National Eligibility Test) in 2012 December. I have work experience from “National Institute of Social Defence (NISD), New Delhi” as consultant. Others are as Consultant Research Associate for the project titled “Exploring the challenges, psychological problems, and mental health needs among frontline health workers of government hospitals: A study in Hyderabad Karnataka Region' by the Department of Psychology, Central University of Karnataka. I have also taught in Central University of Karnataka, Department of Social Work, and Work experience in Centre for Addiction Medicine, NIMHANS, BANGALORE, as Follow-Up Counselor. My interest areas are handling projects, teaching, qualitative analysis, counselling, social work, mental health, public health, community mental health etc. I have also participated in various workshops and presented papers in conference and seminars. Apart from this, I visited as a resource person in community development programs.
During Ph.D. days I also have given awareness talks regarding mental health, adolescence girls’ issues, causes and consequences of substances use in the villages. I also have the experience in conducting programs, seminars etc. Also, I would like to share that I have good rapport building and listening skills. While working in the national Institute of Social defence I was monitoring state level coordinating agencies in the division of “National Council of Drug Abuse prevention”.
