Research Interests
I completed by Master’s Degree in Social Work and am trained in public health. I worked with Institute of Public Health between 2012 and 2018 as a Research Officer in different districts and different projects. Initially I was part of the team working in Belagavi District which studied drivers of social exclusion of eligible beneficiaries from the national health insurance scheme. Between 2013-2016 I worked in Tumkur district as a part of an action research to strengthen local health system for non-communicable disease patients in selected primary health centres of the district. In 2017-18 I was part of a team working in Chamarajanagar district exploring health inequities among tribal people in and around forests. From 2019 to 2021 I worked at the National Health Mission as the District Programme Coordinator for Dharwad district, Karnataka. My role was to strength the local/village level health committees through training and supervision for local action on social health determinants.
